"He who wants to see the radiance of the dawn must walk through the night" -.
Anneliese Mäder
Getting up early is healthy. But only if you take care of yourself during this time. Reserve the time to ‘reset’ yourself for the day. Sometimes getting up 30 minutes earlier is enough.
A new morning routine is a gift to yourself. For your mental and physical health. Do what brings you joy in the morning. It is your time.
Here are a few tips for your morning routine:
- Experiment with the times you get up and also go to bed earlier in the evening
- Get up immediately after your alarm goes off and forget about the snooze button.
- Start slowly and in silence
- Drink a glass of warm water to stimulate the metabolism
- Use positive affirmations for your day, such as: I am healthy.
- Move, stretch or do a little workout
- Laugh, even if you don’t feel like laughing yet. The brain cannot distinguish between a real laugh and a fake laugh.
- Write a to-do list for your day
- Leave the phone off yet
- Stay in the here and now
Reward yourself for your discipline. It helps you to stay tuned. If you are always aware of what your morning routine brings you, you will get out of bed more easily.
